A prominent WWE superstar has expressed frustration over a specific claim made by John Cena during his provocative promo on WWE Raw in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 24.
Similar to the previous week’s event in Brussels, Cena kicked off Raw by delivering a scathing promo, lambasting the audience and vowing to “ruin wrestling” upon capturing his seventeenth world championship at WrestleMania 41, set to take place in just over three weeks.
The OVO Hydro crowd responded with fervor, hurling chants of “shut the fk up” and “fk you Cena” at the polarizing figure. However, the fans weren’t the only ones riled up by Cena’s remarks.
Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre took to Twitter to voice his discontent, retweeting a clip of the promo and zeroing in on Cena’s assertion that he’s “the one guy who always tells the truth.” Accompanying the clip, McIntyre posted a photo of a man slumped over with his head submerged in a bowl of water, paired with a pointed caption:
Despite hinting earlier that he was “shouting at the right people” to secure a spot on the Glasgow episode of Raw, McIntyre was notably absent from the show. The former World Heavyweight Champion has been part of the SmackDown roster since January and is currently embroiled in a heated rivalry with Damian Priest as WrestleMania 41 approaches.
